Lohri Celebrations at SBS

The history of Lohri, a seasonal festival of North India, is as old as history of Indus Valley Civilization. It marks the beginning of end of winters and the coming of spring. The Lohri festival of North India coincides with Pongal in Tamil Nadu and Makar Sakranti in West Bengal, Magha Bihu in Assam, Tai Pongal in Kerela, all celebrated on the auspicious day of Makar Sakranti. Students of the institute organised Lohri function for their international class mates and shared Lohri sweets and wishes.IMG-20130110-00028IMG-20130110-00031
