Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences or B.Sc MLS is 3 years duration undergraduate programme in the field of paramedical science. Throughout the programme, students get the knowledge on basics of all biochemistry, haematology, etc. and advanced skills of testing, detecting, diagnosis and treatment of disease.
The course also imparts knowledge of the collection, testing, documentation and the reporting of the sample. Medical laboratory professionals have unlimited choices of practice settings. As vital members of the health care team, medical laboratory professionals play a critical role in collecting the information needed to give the best care to an ill or injured patient.
Candidates should have passed their 10+2 in science with physics and chemistry as compulsory subjects and either mathematics or biology from recognized education board or 10+2with vocational course in medical laboratory science or medical laboratory technology
The candidate should pass their 10+2 with minimum aggregate of 50% in physics, chemistry and biology and English put together, are eligible.
Duration of B.Sc MLS course is 3 years which is divided into six semester (2 semesters per year)
Duration of B.Sc MLS (lateral entry) is 2 years (4 semester)

Upon completion of B.Sc MLS, a person can find employment opportunities in various fields like medical laboratory technician, clinical laboratory technician, phlebotomist, biochemist, histopathologist, blood bank etc .
The candidates can also open their own laboratory or business. After the completion of the course, the candidate can go in for post graduation. The candidates can go to the education programs for medical laboratory science include a blend of classroom and hands on learning to fully prepare professionals with theoretical and practical career skills.
