SBS going to celebrate Holi Festival on 20th March 2019 at SBS Campus. The festival of colors is Holi, it is vibrant and filled with beautiful colors. Holi is considered as one of the major festivals in India. It is celebrated in the month of Phalgun on full moon day according to the Hindu calendar.
With the onset of spring, northern India gets into the colorful mood of Holi. This festival also denotes celebration due to good harvests and land fertility. This colorful festival also celebrates the eternal love of Radha and Krishna. This festival is celebrated in a grand style in the city of Mathura and Vrindavan. These are two important cities which are deeply associated with Lord Krishna.
The festival of colors teaches humankind to transcend above the caste and creed. It is a festival to forget old grievances and meeting others with great warmth & high spirit. This festival begins with the lightening of the bonfire on Holi eve. Next day, people play Holi with different types of colors, abirs and gulals.
Ludhiana, 8thMarch 2019: ‘UMEED 2019’ Job Fair – an Annual Event was held today at the SBS Campus. Umeed Job Fair offers a platform for job seekers and industry looking for candidates to manage and grow their business. This year more than 300 manufacturing and service sector companies and 1000s of students from across colleges and institutes were invited for Umeed 2019. Of which, around thirty companies and close to 600 students grabbed the opportunity for entry level job placement. Notably companies ICICI Bank, NIIT Ltd., HDFC, Coca Cola, Rockman Industries, Connect Infotel, Kangroo Industries, Lifestyle Nutrition, Aarti International, Vacancy India, Kochar Infotech, etc. participated in the Job Fair
Dr. Zafar Zahir, MD & Principal of SBS informed, “Umeed isan endeavor of SBS to provide employment opportunity to the graduate and postgraduate students of Punjab and develop a sense of purpose and pride in them quoting Allama Iqbal, Millat Ke Sath Rabta Ustawar Rakh, Pewasta Reh Shajar Se, Umeed-e-Bahar Rakh!”
Dr. Ghazala the Chairperson of the college told that Umeed Job Fair was a grand success as more than150 students were short listed for final selection by the companiesand gave the credit to the faculty and students of the college for making it happen.
The Guest of Honourat the event was MrRajan Sharma, ADC Employment and NavdeepSingh, Dy CEO Employment Bureau who appreciated the efforts being made by SBS not only in providing employment to its students but also students of other colleges/institutes of Punjab.

SBS has been organizing UMEED JOB FAIR intermittently for last many years. UMEED has become an annual feature since last year in which over 20 companies and more than 500 students participated from different colleges in and around Ludhiana for job placement. This year we are organizing the UMEED 2019 on Friday, 8th March 2019 at our campus. And it’s going to be bigger and better with number of reputed companies vying for the opportunity to recruit graduate and postgraduate students from different streams like Arts, Commerce (B.Com & M.Com), Management (BBA & MBA), Engineering & Technology (B.TECH & B.E), I.T. (BCA & MCA) and Engineering Diploma Holders from various colleges for their manufacturing and allied functions like Sales, Accounts/Finance, HR, Admin, back-office, etc.
Today on the first day of SBS NSS and Yoga Camp (8th Jan, 2019 to 10th January 2019) the students actively participated in yoga and cleanliness drive at SBS Campus.
“PARWAAZ 2019” a multicultural inter-school event for 10+2 students from across Ludhiana is being held at SBS Campus on Friday, 1st Feb 2019. The objective of the event is a combination of educational and entertainment activities will be available for students to participate
