COURSE NAME:- BUSINESS RESEARCH METHODS (MCOP 203-18)
COURSE OBJECTIVES :- The primary objective of this course is to develop a research orientation among the scholars and to acquaint them with fundamentals of research methods. Specifically, the course aims at introducing them to the basic concepts used in research and to scientific social research methods and their approach. It includes discussions on sampling techniques, research designs and techniques of analysis. Some other objectives of the course are:
- To develop understanding of the basic framework of research process.
- To develop an understanding of various research designs and techniques.
- To identify various sources of information for literature review and data collection.
- To familiarize participants with basic of research and the research process.
- To enable the participants in conducting research work and formulating research synopsis and report.
- To impart knowledge for enabling students to develop data analytics skills and meaningful interpretation to the data sets so as to solve the business/Research problem.
LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE: The aim of the course is to provide participants with an introduction to research methods and report writing. Upon successful completion of the course you are expected to:-
CO1. Develop understanding on various kinds of research, objectives of doing research, research process, research designs and sampling.
CO2. Have basic knowledge on qualitative research techniques
CO3. Have adequate knowledge on measurement & scaling techniques as well as the quantitative data analysis
CO4. Have basic awareness of data analysis-and hypothesis testing procedures
