Dr. Ghazala Qadri
She is used to play with syringes and stethoscope and had a divine smile as a little girl child. After all Dr. Ghazala Qadri wanted to be a doctor right from her childhood days. When she saw men and women walking in white coats with stethoscopes on their shoulders she knew of the respect and recognition the profession commanded. She began her medical studies at Jamia Hamdard, Delhi and finished her BUMS in 1999. Five years of in-depth medical studies and rigorous training has laid the foundations for an illustrious career to serve the people with Unani and Herbal remedies.
During her internship with Majidia and Hindu Rao hospitals she was exposed to best in terms of medical care and technology. When it comes to being a wonderful human , she is not less, she says, “I believe in having genuine concern for my patients ,then only I can connect with patents at human level “her total work experience exceeds 20 years in consultation.
Interestingly, people often approach her through her website and social media and obviously there is no referral in such cases. Yet they come with so much trust, it has surprised her at times. The high level of trust they impose in her amazes her all the more. She shares, “My patients have come from different parts of India including Kolkatta, Jodhpur and Jalandhar etc and in fact some of them have come from aboard including Saudi Arabia.
She has a very scientific bent of mind and believes in evidence based medicine, which is proven. She makes a conscious effort at human to human interaction with her patients. Since it helps in connecting with the patient emotionally, interestingly the patients tend to be more complaint and follow what she says as a doctor.
She plans to start Radio program on FM on the benefits of Unani and Herbal techniques which heals the body rather than curing the diseases temporarily. Yet, she believes, sometimes an illness may not have a permanent cure and the patient has to come to terms with it, by accepting the facts emotionally and mentally. Taking multiple opinions is of no use under such circumstances.
She emphasizes the key values on which her Unani Herbal & Aurvedic clinic runs are competency, honesty, trust, emotional connect, commitment, availability 24×7, and courteous behavior. And she believes the right behavior from the front desk itself.
She believes in holistic healing, and tells “My long term goal is to popularize U&A in a more structured way by franchising my Unani and Herbal and taking it a national with help of an investor.
She is a full time trustee in Synetic Business School. (A management and IT institute) started by her husband Dr. Zafar Zahir. She remains a dedicated and hard worker to the core between both professions. She inhaled charity from her Father – in – law Dr. M.A Zahir who has retired as dean from college of Basic Science and Humanities, PAU Ludhiana.
Relentlessly she is carrying on welfare medicine program by organizing medical camps. In last two months she has successfully organized 12 medical camps and has healed more than 500 patients. She plans to hold 100 more such camps in the current year.
