  • SBS STUDENT SHINE IN PTU MERIT LIST BY SECURING TENTH POSITION

    After achieving many milestones in the field of placements, now SBS student has created a history in academics. Maintaining and proving its supremacy in the field of technical education, the student of the college namely Mosami Bagh of 5th Sem. B.Com has bagged 10th position Securing 81.67%. PTU has released Merit Lists of this examination carrying names of first ten toppers of the University in each class and discipline. Dr. M.A. Zahir, Director General, SBS Group said that I am proud of our students and faculty, whose hard work is instrumental in bringing about such a wonderful result. Undoubtedly, this is a result of scientific approach, extended inputs on part of faculty and the desire to excel on a continuous basis. Feeling ecstasy over the achievement, Mosami Bagh from SBS said that the feeling to attain the top of the merit list is something which cannot be expressed in words. I am thankful to my teachers and parents, because of whom I have been able to attain such a beautiful feeling.

  • Tribute to B.R. Ambedkar (124th birthday)

    Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, chiefly responsible for drafting of The Constitution of India and a champion of human rights was born on the 14th April, 1891. After graduating from Elfinstone College, Bombay in 1912, he joined Columbia University, USA where he was awarded Ph.D. Later he joined the London School of Economics & obtained a degree of D.Sc. ( Economics) & was called to the Bar from Gray’s Inn.

    On his return to India in 1923, he founded ‘Bahishkrit Hitkarini Sabha’ with the main objective of spreading education & improving the economic conditions of the depressed classes. With the slogan of ‘Educate-Agitate-Organize’, the social movement led by Dr. Ambedkar aimed at Annihilation of Caste & the Reconstruction of Indian Society on the basis of equality of human beings.

    In 1927, he led the march at Mahad, Maharashtra to establish the rights of the untouchables to taste water from the Public Chawdar Lake’, traditionally prohibited to them. This marked the beginning of anti-caste & anti-priest movement. The temple entry movement launched by Dr. Ambedkar in 1930 at the Kalaram Temple, Nashik, Maharashtra is another landmark in the struggle for human rights & political justice. Dr. Ambedkar held the view that “Only political power cannot be a panacea for the ills of the depressed classes. Their salvation lies in their social elevation”. As a Member of the Viceroy’s Executive Council from July 1942 he was instrumental in bringing about several legislative measures to protect the rights of labourers & workers.

    Paramjit singh(Assistant Professor) briefed that Baisakhi is a festival celebrated across the northern Indian subcontinent, especially in the Punjab region by the Sikh community. More recently, this festival is also celebrated around the world by Sikh diaspora. For the Sikh community this festival commemorates the establishment of the Khalsa. It is also celebrated byHindus and Buddhists for different reasons including the start of a new year. People in the Punjab Region regard Vaisakhi as a harvest festival.For Hindus, it is the start of the second month of New Year after Chaitr, and is celebrated with requisite bathing, partying, and worshipping. It’s believed that thousands of years ago, Goddess Ganga descended to earth and in her honour, many Hindus gather along the sacred Ganges River for ritual baths. The action is centered in the holy cities along the Ganges in north India, or in Srinagar’s Mughal Gardens, Jammu’s Nagbani Temples–, or anywhere in Tamil Nadu. Hindus plant poles (wrapped in flags of gold-embroidered silk) in front of their homes, and hang pots of brass, copper or silver on top.

    Paramjit Singh(Assistant-Professor) briefed that Good Friday is a religious holiday observed primarily by Christians commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary. The holiday is observed during Holy Week as part of the Paschal Triduum on the Friday preceding Easter Sunday, and may coincide with the Jewish observance of Passover. It is also known as Holy Friday, Great Friday, Black Friday or Easter Friday, though the latter properly refers to the Friday in Easter week.

    Good Friday is a widely-instituted legal holiday in many national governments around the world, including in most Western countries as well as in 12 U.S. states. Some governments have laws prohibiting certain acts that are seen as contrasting the solemn nature of the day.

  • “Workshop on Web Technologies and Mobile App Development”

    Mr.Jeswinder Singh from NIIT Ludhiana, visited Synetic Business School, Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana. He shared his rich experiences on basic constructs of an Object Oriented Languages with Indian and Foreign students. He added to the knowledge of students that what is the basic logic behind development of a software and new technology in the world of Web and Mobile Application.
