As we all know that a Tanzanian student was beaten up and stripped in Bengaluru. It wasn’t mob rage over an accident. It was racism. As Indians, we expect equal treatment in other countries. But how do we treat foreigners in India? Let’s tell the world that they will be safe in India. Lately Ludhiana has been a choice of foreign students from more than 30 countries. Ludhianvies have proved to be great host and have welcomed these guests with what we called perfect Punjabi Hospitality.We are glad to inform that Punjab in particular Ludhiana is a hub for students from developing nations who come for Graduate courses.

Racial attack is a matter of extreme shame, not of pride., we must first break down the causes of this problem. In order to solve racial discrimination, SBS is organizing an event “Building bridges and improving racial harmony” on March 08. As you know we already have trained 170 foreign students enrolled with us from thirteen nations under various programs. An attempt will be made to understand why people of a different race feel the need to racially discriminate against minorities. Three causes that standout are superiority, stereotyping, and fear of the unknown. Students from India, Afghanistan, Nigeria and Uganda will elaborate on these causes and possible remedies. Foreign Students will dress in their traditional costumes and will present cultural activity representing their area followed by the talk.

This genuinely is the hope for mankind in their fight to end racism.

Vasant Panchami day is dedicated to Saraswati, the Goddess of knowledge, music, arts, science and technology. This festival highlights the coming of spring. SBS faculty members celebrated it with students. Dr. Ghazala Qadri, management trustee informed students that Vasant stands for spring, and Panchami means the fifth day. Thus, the festival is celebrated on the fifth day of the spring season. Although now the festival is dominated by the worship of the goddess Saraswati, a grand feast is prepared in the honour of Kamadeva. Also, love is still considered an integral part of the day, as it is auspicious to host a large number of weddings during the festival.

SBS took students to excursion to Go-Dhaam the largest cow shelter in Punjab. The NGO is running stray cow shelter and which provides food and medical care. Also the NGO propagates medicines made from organic sources. Students learnt about the structures and working of NGOs and their contribution to the society.

Later in the day students visited MBD Mall and learnt about franchising and retailing. Tour was organised by management trustee Dr. Ghazala Qadri.

SBS college and Unani Herbal clinic organized second medical camp at Bhaini Sahib Village. More than 100 patients were given free medicines for liver, kidney and various other problems. Free medicines were distributed. Unani medicine expert Dr. Ghazala Qadri and her team distributed free medicines to the patients. Patients were also counseled for Unani medical therapies.

Cricket runs in the veins of India. It is a passion. A cricket match was played between teams captained by Asst. Prof. Nitish Batra and Asst. Prof. Pankaj Bedi in the campus grounds. Even extreme cold conditions could not dampen the spirits of students. T-10 match was umpired by Asst. Prof. Ranjit Singh.

Asst. Prof. Nitish Batra’s team won by 12 runs. Management Trustee Dr. Ghazala Qadri said that even girls must come forward to participate in this game.

Kite Flying competition was organized for the students in which both girls and boys participated. Kites of different colors and shapes soared high and took to the clear blue skies. It was introduced as part of the festival to revive the practice of kite-flying, which is reckoned to be going out of vogue among the modern generation. The cynosure of all eyes at the festival was the ring kite flown by Asst. Ajay pal Singh.

Sarpanch of Shri. Bhaini Sahib today graced Synetic Business School and inaugurated second computer lab at Synetic Business School. While addressing the students he said the simple living and continuous drive for success is important for every students. S. Nirmal Singh also requested Dr. Ghazala Qadri to hold second medical camp at village Gurudwara on January 28. He was accompanied with Panchayat Committee members and was honored by our Chairman Dr. M.A. Zahir.

Family members of Synetic Business School today organized farewell get together for Asst. Prof. Nisha Narang. Prof. Nisha Narang was a chrismatic faculty and was HOD Finance. A glorious two years of service she is now joining doctorate program at PAU.
