  • 2014 Commonwealth Games

    • The 2014 Commonwealth Games (officially the XX Commonwealth Games) are being held in Glasgow, Scotland, from 23 July to 3 August 2014.
    • It is the largest multi-sport event ever held in Scotland with around 4,950 athletes from 71 different nations and territories competing in 17 different sports, although the country previously hosted the 1970 and 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh. Over the last 10 years, however, Glasgow and Scotland had staged World, Commonwealth, European, or British events in all 17 sports proposed for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, including the World Badminton Championships in 1997.
    • Scotland was the first country to consider hosting the 2014 Commonwealth Games in 2004, with Scottish cities being invited by the Commonwealth Games Council for Scotland to consider making a bid.
    • India started the Day 6 with a medal tally of 26 and 7th rank in the medal table at Commonwealth Games but it was India’s wrestlers in form of Sushil Kumar, Amit Kumar and teenager Vinesh that brought gold medal feast. The day 7 of Glasgow 2014 saw India add 11 medals (4 in wrestling, 5 in shooting and 2 in weightlifting). India are now placed at 6th with 27 medals (10 gold, 16 silver, 11 bronze).
  • Happy Eid al-Fitr

    The Chairman of the Institute Dr.M.A. Zahir greeted  all the faculty members and students on the ocassion of   Eid al-Fitr .

    Assistant Professor(Paramjit Singh) briefed that he religious Eid is a single day during which Muslims are not permitted to fast. The holiday celebrates the conclusion of the 29 or 30 days of dawn-to-sunset fasting during the entire month of Ramadan. The day of Eid, therefore, falls on the first day of the month of Shawwal. This is a day when Muslims around the world show a common goal of unity. The date for the start of any lunar Hijri month varies based on the observation of new moon by local religious authorities, so the exact day of celebration varies by locality. However, in most countries, it is generally celebrated on the same day as Saudi Arabia.

  • Tribute to Nelson Mandela

    It is 96 years ago today that Nelson Mandela was born; a revolutionary who would become the face of magnanimity, wisdom, and resistance to injustice, as well as “father of the nation” to South Africa.During his time in prison, Mandela studied law and learnt Afrikaans, in order to be able to speak with the men who were guarding him.Mandela’s imprisonment on Robben Island shows him reading, accompanied by the quote: “Education is the most powerful weapon which we can use to change the world”.Politically an African nationalist and democratic socialist, Mandela became a member of the African National Congress in his twenties, and later became its president. As a result of his work with the ANC, he spent 27 years in prison, charged with convictions of sabotage and conspiracy to overthrow the state.

     

     

  • CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

     Synetic Business School has added another feather to its corporate social responsibility program when it came forward to finance the knee replacement surgery of its faculty member. SBS actively collected funds and sponsored the cost of surgery which took place at cmc ludhiana. SBS has always followed the” principle of worthy intentions” by which a company keeps the interest of its employees and customers ahead of company’s profits.

  • Fifth Counselling Session held at S.B.S.

    Counselling session for under graduate courses held at the institute in which more than 30 students  from different schools were participated.The session was organised by the Marketing Team.The presentation regarding career-guidance delivered by Dr.Harpreet Kaur(Hon’ble Principal) and Mr.Paramjit Singh (Assistant Professor).In this session, Dr Harpreet kaur focus on the career opportunities after doing BBA and B.Com programmes.She explained that one can seek out for employments in share trading, business corporations, industries, print media, and  can also work in Government sector or in IT industries.These courses  helps an aspirant to study about the economic trends, fiscal policies and also the different administrative and commerce oriented techniques to deal with the various operations and transactions in the commercial world.

    Assistant Professor(Paramjit singh) briefed that BCA is a new age degree course in the field of computer applications. The duration of the course is normally three years. After completion of the BCA course, students can opt for masters or they can even try for job opportunities. Bachelor of Computer Applications is a course that is customized for students wishing to shine in the field of computers and information technology. BCA graduates can start up their career in either Government sector or private sector since there are a lot of employment opportunities in both these sectors. This degree helps the students to get a sound knowledge on computer applications with the help of which they can have a perfect launch pad for challenging career in the field of information technology.

  • Fourth Counselling Session held at S.B.S

    Counselling session for under graduate courses held at the institute in which more than 50 students  from different schools were participated.The session was organised by the Marketing Team.The presentation regarding career-guidance delivered by Dr.Harpreet Kaur(Hon’ble Principal) and Ms. Jasmeen Kaur(Assistant Professor).During the session,it introduces the student to the various aspects that form part of the effective business management.Undergraduate management programmes like BBA and MBA offer bright opportunities to lead a successful career in the field of management.There is immense scope for students who are pursuing management courses from reputed B-School (i.e. Synetic Business School).One can go for Banking,Marketing or HR.Practical knowledge that one gains during the internship helps in future endeavours.

  • S.B.S TVC on all multiplexes of Ludhiana

    The students of M.B.A. final year have designed and implemented another promotional program for S.B.S ,”S.B.S in Multiplexes“, the aim of the students is to capture the captive audience. They have shot and prepared a 33 second TVC for various multiplexers in Ludhiana. The TVC introduces the audience with USP of business school and testimonials. Interestingly no models were hired for TVC. The shooting was done in the campus and the school students acted in the act. The act is being screened in all the multiplexers in Cinepolis Mutliplex  in MBD,PVR in Silver Arc Mall and Solitaire Cinemas. It has received a thumbs up from the audience who have greatly appreciated the layout of the act.

  • S.B.S on Wheels

    Building a good brand and creating brand equity is a challenging and arduous task  for any firm. Creating space in the minds of consumers which are already occupied with stress of modern day life is a tricky job. S.B.S. a premiere business institute in Ludhiana is a favourite destination of the best amongst the best. The school trains the students not only in theory but it’s application also. This year the school gave the responsibility of designing and implementing promotional programs to its marketing students. The students design and implemented a transit advertising program (S.B.S. on Wheels). The school has hired four local buses out of a fleet of 15 buses which ply with in Ludhiana everyday. Students have designed a creative copy and impressive visuals which are displayed on these buses. These buses plyer between Jalandhar Bye Pass and Dhandran ,Jalandhar Bye Pass and Gill-Road, Bus -Stand and Kohara and Jalandhar Bye Pass and Field-Ganj.

    Voting is an art by which ordinary citizens choose their representatives and influence public policies.The post several polls have witnessed a general decline in voter through out the world and while there is written agreement as to what specifically constitutes a good lead of turn out,recent declines in many countries have raised concern among governments,non-government organizations and citizens. Keeping  this in view Synetic Business School designed a grass root level campaign to encourage voters to vote in large numbers.The school deployed all its three teams who met voters through different cross sections of the society and encourage them to exercise their universal adult franchise.The campaign covered 28 villages and 560 households.The college designed flairs,talk shows and roadshows to encourage people to come out of their homes and vote.It was a social responsibility which the college fulfilled to best of its abilities.
