    Effective career Planning

    Career planning makes the difference between a high growth in a career and a potential job loss. Most youths think that to be successful they need to work hard but that’s not true because if hard work is the only criterion to be successful then everyone can be successful. Only hard work in a career brings stress and pressure.

    When a business graduate plans his/her career, then they tap on their full potential whether taking on new risks, working on some big projects, or thinking out of the box. During my research between 2008-21, I found that those graduates, who have better career plans, feel less stress and feel more in control of their professional life.

    So what comes under effective career planning?

    First, set your goals for the next five years so that if there is any fluctuation in the market, then you can deal with it easily without much panic and/or stress.

    Next, find your passion. What is your passion, what you want to achieve, it can be anything like you want to move from entry-level to work in the middle management, you want to serve the people; you want to join the marketing board? See what is your passion and what you like to do. Steve Jobs once said, “Do what you love and if you have not found it, then look for it”. How pertinent!

    The third thing, which comes under effective career planning, is to focus on balancing your personal and professional life. Let’s say you have achieved 10 things or 20 things and still you are feeling stressed out or you feel restless in the middle of the night. It’s not an achievement, it’s just a number on a piece of paper with some numbers, achievements, and certificates. To be a great professional, first, focus on yourself, and then you can effectively focus on your career.

    Career planning is not only about a career but also about a meaningful life. So, plan your career for the next five years and take a massive leap in your career journey.

    Eligibility
    Graduates (Any stream) – 1st, 2nd & Final Year students

    Post Grad (Any stream) – Both 1st and 2nd-year students

    Must have access to a PC/Laptop with an internet connection

    The penchant to do the acquisition of new customers by working through Bank Branches

    Those who are Graduates/Post Graduates can also take this Internship program till the time they find good

    Selection Process:

    The college will collect the resumes of interested students and share them with BFSL.
    Depending on the number of resumes, the BFSL may shortlist the profiles on the basis of academic score and any other relevant information.

    The interviews will be conducted over video conferencing or locally available Mentors to select the Interns.

    Duration: 30 days, 45 days, or 60 days.

    Internship Offer Letter: The letter will be issued centrally after receiving the final details.
    Enablers:

    Training of interns on products, processes, and other requisite details.
    Mentoring support from BFSL to ensure the success of the interns
    Guidance from seniors during the Intern’s discussions with Branch Heads and other stakeholders.
    The intern would primarily be required to work physically in 4-5 nearby BOB Branches.

    Role of Interns:
    Acquisition of new customers by working physically from BOB Branches nearby.

    Intern has to compulsorily visit 4 -5 BoB Branches.

    Sourcing and Acquisition of Credit Cards for the organization
    Understand the organization’s product and process for new client sourcing.

    Able to demonstrate the product line and product feature to the potential customer and advise on the right product for selection for closure of deal And, any other projects basis organization’s requirement.

    Completion

    The interns will be required to submit a report approved by the mentor
    The interns will be offered a completion certificate.
    Rs.1000/- incentive on each Approved Credit Card.

    We celebrate Children’s day in India on the 14th of November every year. India”s first prime minister was born in Allahabad on 14th November 1889. Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru popularly known as Chacha Nehru was very fond of children. His love for Children was immense. He always advocated that the children of the country are entitled to a fulfilled childhood and higher education.

    Because of Chacha Nehru’s immense love for children, 14th November was declared as Children’s day since the death of Nehru in 1964. Nationwide this day is celebrated to shower love and affection towards children.

    Schools and Colleges celebrate Children”s day with great enthusiasm. Teachers and students of every school on this day come out of their daily routine to celebrate the day.

     Remembering Dr M.A. Zahir

    09 NOV. Remembering Dr. M.A. Zahir on this day when his mortal remains were assigned to dust two years back. His legacy and his teachings remain with us till the end of time.

    May Almighty give us the courage to follow the path set by him – high moral ethics, pursuit of knowledge, tolerance, and humility – and grant him the highest of place in the heavens. Amin!

    Dr Zahir was a pioneer in Business Management education and professionalising the working of our organisations. He left an indelible mark on education, corporate governance, and management across sectors. Various cooperates of PUNJAB still are growing on the vision and mentoring he gave to the Owner
    Managers as member of the board and/or guru as many called him both in India and abroad.

    The trustees, management, faculty, and past/current students pray to the Almighty that they have enough resolve and perseverance to further his vision and legacy.

    Karwa Chauth Day falls on the 4th day of the Kartik month every year. On this day it is customary for the wife to fast the whole day. The Hindu festival Karwa Chauth is celebrated with great enthusiasm among married women. On this day, women keep a ‘nirjala’ fast — which literally means fasting in which even water isn’t consumed from sunrise till moonrise.

    Women fast on this day to pray for the safe and long life of their husbands, though these days many husbands too observe the fast along with their wives for a similar reason.

    May Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva fill your life with love, peace happiness, good health and wealth. Happy Karwa Chauth!

    Valmiki Jayanti 2020

    Valmiki Jayanti 2020 is  celebrated in India on October 31 . Valmiki is also known as Adi Kavi and the first poet of Sanskrit literature. He wrote the epic Ramayan consisting of 24,000 verses and 7 Kandas. The birth anniversary of the author and sage Maharishi Valmiki is observed on the full moon night or Purnima of the Ashwin month. The day is celebrated by remembering Maharishi Valmiki and reciting their verses of Ramayan.

    Devotees believe that Maharishi Valmiki had met Lord Rama during His exile. It is also believed that it was sage Valmiki who rescued Sita and provided her shelter when she was banished by Lord Rama from the kingdom of Ayodhya. And it that very ashram she gave birth to the twins, Lava and Kusha.

    While the twins were growing up, it was this great sage who became their teacher and instructor and taught Ramayana, which contains 24,000 verses (shlokas) and 7 cantos (kandas).
