SUMMER CAMP

A Summer Camp is being organized by the Synetic Business School from June 1 to July 31. Management Trustee Dr. Ghazala Qadri inaugurated the camp. The camp will train students in two different fields. Web designing and English Speaking and Personality Development. Dr. Qadri told that Summer is a great time to expose young minds to new interests and this for the first time that such a camp is being organized for the college students, other school students and their family members. Besides education and learning, students will experience fun, joy and laughter. Full of exuberance, students will participate in various activities that will boost their knowledge, competitive spirit in Information and Technology and English Language.

Experts of different fields have been hired to take classes of their respective events. The valedictory day function would be held July end on the Institute’s lawns in which Chairman Dr. M.A. Zahir would be honor Participants of all events.

Buddha Purnima is traditionally known as Vesak or Vesakha since it falls in the month of Vaishakh according to lunar calendar. It is a festival that marks the birth, enlightenment and death of Gautam Buddha. This day usually falls on the day of full moon (Purnima) in the month of May, hence it is also known as ‘Buddha Purnima’. Many of us may not know the amount of divinity that goes into celebrating this festival, therefore, lets enlighten ourselves.

On this day devout Buddhists and followers assemble in various temples before dawn for the ceremonial and honourable hoisting of the Buddhist Flag.

Devotees bring simple offerings of flowers, candles and joss-sticks to lay at the feet of their teacher. They come together to make a special effort to refrain from killing of any kind and are encouraged to partake in vegetarian food for this day.

SEMINAR ON CAREER COUNSELLING
With the board results out, it’s time for hundreds of students to take the right decision regarding their career and future. The choice of subjects play a very important role as they can make or break a student’s future. In a bid to help young minds make the right choice regarding subjects and institutes, Synetic Business School hosted Mission Admission seminars at various schools the past week.
Students got a chance to interact with various counselling experts at the seminar. Such one-to-one sessions addressed individual needs of students and provided guidance for various career opportunities and the subjects and courses that helped them achieve their dreams.
The seminar besides talking about subjects and institutes also integrated discussions on prominent themes like how to improve students’ performance during campus interviews and comparing various career options available to them. It was moderated by Assistant Professor Ajaypal Singh. The discussion was guided by alumni who go for pre-placement talks and campus recruitment. They counselled students to be confident and yet focus on minute details that might help them clinch the job. They also shared valuable viewpoints about their expansion, hurdles, milestones, career transitions, balancing family and career, and values and ethics. Around 200-250 students attended these sessions

Like every year, before examination, Synetic Business School took its students to Gurudwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib to seek divine blessings. Students offered services in the langar hall and every one enjoyed the shabads.

Every year, May 3rd is a date which celebrates the fundamental principles of press freedom; to evaluate press freedom around the world, to defend the media from attacks on their independence and to pay tribute to journalists who have lost their lives in the exercise of their profession.

3 May was proclaimed World Press Freedom Day the UN General Assembly in 1993 following a Recommendation adopted at the twenty-sixth session of UNESCO’s General Conference in 1991.

It serves as an occasion to inform citizens of violations of press freedom – a reminder that in dozens of countries around the world, publications are censored, fined, suspended and closed down, while journalists, editors and publishers are harassed, attacked, detained and even murdered.

It is a date to encourage and develop initiatives in favour of press freedom, and to assess the state of press freedom worldwide.

It serves as a reminder to governments of the need to respect their commitment to press freedom and is also a day of reflection among media professionals about issues of press freedom and professional ethics. Just as importantly, World Press Freedom Day is a day of support for media which are targets for the restraint, or abolition, of press freedom. It is also a day of remembrance for those journalists who lost their lives in the exercise of their profession.

Synetic Business School celebrated International Labour Day today. The entire day was dedicated to staff members and supporting staff. A team from students organized management games and brain storming sessions for their faculty. A presentation on the history and importance of labour day was given to the students. The underlying motive of celebrations was to make SBS family aware of this day and motivate them. A debate on the labour unrest in India with respect to incidents in Gurgaon and Pros and Cons of MGNREGA was also held. Students highlighted the issue faced by labour in Industrial City of Ludhiana. The suffocating and unhygienic living conditions in local Vehras and rise in crime in labour colonies were highlighted.
